Over 90% of patients do not feel anything at all during treatment, and those who do say it wasn't bad enough to need a shot. You can have a filling done and go have a meal, give a speech or meet with a client without the worry of looking and sounding funny from a numb lip and face.

Dr. Shvartsman is proud to be the first General Dentist to offer the Versa Wave Dental Laser to his patients.

No Mercury!!!
Silver-mercury (black) amalgam fillings have not been used by Dr. Shvartsman in over ten years. In addition to the natural look, the new bonded  composite fillings ‘bond’ to the tooth, resulting in a much stronger tooth, have less susceptibility to cracking teeth and are much healthier for the teeth and the  environment.

Magnification
Teeth are very small- smaller than your pinky finger nail. In order to provide you with the best possible dental care we need to fully see what we are doing.   Both Dr. Shvartsman and the dental hygienists use specially made dental magnifying glasses during your treatment. In fact, Dr. Shvartsman's glasses magnify his vision by 500 times!

90% Less Radiation X-Rays
Our office utilizes modern digital x-rays! We are proud that a recent New Your State Inspection found that our office uses the lowest radiation levels in our area! Digital X-rays reduce radiation exposure  up to 90% compared to old fashioned x-rays and the images that are produced give us more information than conventional x-rays. With this added information Dr. Shvartsman can diagnose smaller cavities and infections that, when treated earlier, results in more comfort for our patients.

Bright & Healthy Smile
If you have been disappointed with over the counter products, or if conventional  dental whitening  methods produced mediocre results that do not last, ask about Dr. Shvartsman’s Deep Whitening Technique.   Deep Whitening is simply the most effective whitening technique available todway. Dr. Shvartsman can get your teeth their whitest. Even “resistant” or tetracycline stained teeth will get white!

The Latest Sterilization Techniques to Ensure Your Health & Safety
Sterilization is an area that Dr. Shvartsman’s patients never have to worry about. Not only does  he use the most high powered sterilization techniques available, but an independent laboratory regularly monitors the process to ensure safety.  Dr. Shvartsman even uses a self contained water bottle system  to ensure that his water lines and  water sprays are safe from harmful bacteria

Laser Cavity Scanner
We use the latest in cavity detection technology: The Diagnodent. If you are like most of us, you’ve had the dentist find a cavity, place a rather large filling and you’ve wondered why the filling is so large if the cavity wasn’t there six months before.  The answer is that the cavity was there six months before – it just wasn’t big enough to show on x-rays and was not visible to the dentist yet. In fact, nearly 40% of early cavitites are undetected by conventional methods.  Our new Laser Scanner, the Diagnodent, can now painlessly find cavities years earlier, when the ultra-small cavity can be removed quickly and painlessly, many times without the need for an injection.  With its 90% accuracy its like having a second opinion during every check-up.

Digital Photography
Communicating with our Dental Laboratory is essential to producing beautiful dental restorations.  Our state of the art Digital Camera system allows us to take pictures of your teeth and smiles and e-mail or send photos to our Dental Laboratories.  In this way our Porcelain Artists can predictably achieve natural looking results with your Crowns, Veneers and Bridges.

Miniature Video Cameras for Your Mouth
It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. That is why we are using miniature video cameras that take pictures inside the mouth and instantly transmit the images to the TV’s in the treatment rooms. No more fumbling with akward hand mirrors! This is a helpful tool that is useful not only to educate you about your mouth, but also magnifys your teeth and aids in the diagnosis potential problems.  Now you can see your problem areas for yourselves without having to "take our woed for it".

Allergy Free Metals
If you have red, irritated gums around crowns or bridges no matter how well you brush, you may have an allergy to the metal in your dental work! Many people have allergies to nickel, copper or beryllium. In fact 25% of all women are allergic to nickel. Some dentists, in order to save money, use cheaper dental alloys in their crowns, bridges and dentures.  Dr. Shvartsman cares about his patients’ health, that is why he never uses these potentially allergic metals  in his dental restorations.

Root Canal Improvements
The mention of this word sends shivers down peoples spines. That is why Dr. Shvartsman utilizes state of the art instruments to make root canals a breeze! Many dentists use multiple x-rays to determine the length of the tooth root during treatment. Dr. Shvartsman utilizes a mini-computer to do the same job. This means much fewer x-rays during your root canal treatment. In addition, Dr. Shvartsman uses a silent electric drill and the most current root canal instruments. Root canal treatment is faster, quieter and more comfortable. The treatment results have become much more successful as well.

Gentler Extractions
Tooth extractions have always been a  barbaric procedure… until  now.  In Europe, tooth extraction techniques have been redesigned and  Dr. Shvartsman is proud to offer this gentler tooth extraction method to his patients. By using new instruments and techniques Dr. Shvartsman can  extract teeth gently, without the need to cut gums, or drill away bone. His patients experience less bleeding, pain and swelling afterwards and dry  sockets are a thing of the past.

Non-Surgical Gum Disease Treatment
Gum disease is a bacterial infection of the gums and bone supporting the teeth and is the major reason for tooth loss in the United States today. Over 80% of the population has some form of gum disease. Today the majority of the cases can be treated non-surgically. Dr. Shvartsman has advanced training in non-surgical treatment of gum disease.

Adult Fluoride
Fluoride treatments create a decay resistant layer in all teeth (not only baby teeth). That is why we  recommend adult fluoride treatments to patients who are at a higher risk for tooth decay. People who have  gum  recession,  tooth  sensitivity,  multiple fillings and crowns, or those who may have difficulty brushing (such as arthritis of the hands)  benefit as well.
