In an ongoing study at the West Virginia University School of Medicine and Dentistry is examining the relationship between memory loss in the elderly and Gum Disease. To further build on studies linking periodontal disease and memory loss Dr. Crout, an expert on gum disease and associate dean for reasearch in WVU school of Dentistry, will share a 1.3 million dollar National Institute of Health grant.
