Align Technology would like to congratulate Dr Alex Shvartsman in achieving the Preferred Provider Status.  As an Invisalign Preferred Provider, Dr. Shvartsman has demonstrated his experience with providing Invisalign treatment to many satisfied patients.  In addition, in order to weed out inexperienced dentists Invisalign has set up minimum annual treatment and continuing education requirements.  

October is Breast Cancer Research Awareness Month

Dr. Shvartsman is helping fund Breast Cancer Research.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Many of us know someone whose life has been affected by Breast Cancer. Our office recognizes how important it is to fund research for this disease. State of the Art Comfort Dentistry is now offering a new low sensitivity high performance  at home whitening gel: Venus White. The makers of Venus White gel will be donating a percentage of of its proceeds to Breast Cancer Research.  

Biomimetic Dental Conference 2009

Dr Shvartsman just returned form a 3 day intensive advanced dental education course in Biomimetic Dentistry in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The course included a 50 article literature review of current dental concepts related to biomimetic tooth reconstruction.  57 of the country's top dentists attended, including Ray Bertolotti, David Alleman, Mike Alpern, and the famous Italian dentist: Simone Deliperi. The Poly Jaw Motion Replictor was introduced to the group. This is the first and only device to truly replicate of the way the natural human jaw movement.  Dr. Shvartsma will be attending a certification course some time next year. The 3 day course included a hands on natural tooth reconstruction using Dr. Deliperi's direct composite technique as well as a live patient treatment demonstration in which Dr. Shvartsman acted as a dental assistant!Read more

Besphenol A: Should you be concerned about your fillings?

And you thought all you had to worry about was the mercury in your fillings; according to Carly Weeks in the Globe and Mail, studies have found detectable levels of BPA in the saliva of patients after they received sealants or fillings, but experts are divided as to whether this low exposure constitutes a health risk.
